WE DO NOT HAVE A YEAR 1/2 CLASS IN 2023-24. INSTEAD, WE HAVE TWO YEAR 2 CLASSES.

Welcome to the Year 1/2 home page

A warm welcome to all the Year 1/2 children. This year we will be working closely with the other classes in KS1 to provide a rich and diverse curriculum.

Our team this year in Year 1/2 will be Miss Hudspith, Jan and Julia.

Reading books and reading records

Please make sure that your child brings their reading book and record into school everyday. This will help us with listening to your child read as frequently as possible in school.  Reading books will be changed by Jan on Tuesdays and Fridays.

To support your child with this we encourage children to read at home. We can't emphasise enough the difference that you can make at home through regularly reading with your child and listening to them read. Shorts bursts of reading regularly really will help to develop their fluency and ability to decode words which will help them so much with a lot of learning at school.  

P.E  will be once a week on Mondays  . Please make sure your child comes to school in their kit on these days. Joggers and a warm top are needed please so we have the option of going outside if it's dry. 

Forest School 

Year 1/2 will have no forest school this half term.
