Remote Learning 2020 - 2021

Welcome to our Reception Class home learning page.

Dear Parent / Carer,

If you are reading this, we assume that either you or a member of your family is self-isolating, shielding or has tested positive or is awaiting COVID-19 test results. We hope that you are all managing and are not finding everything too challenging? The wellbeing of the Bishopton community is, as always, our first priority.

Here you will find links to your home learning tasks.  We will be uploading work on a weekly basis and you will be able to access it from 9am every Monday.

If you or your child becomes unwell during this period, please email the school office and let us know as we do not expect children to complete remote learning tasks if they are sick or if you are unable to support them. We do understand that this time will be challenging for us all.

PLEASE NOTE THAT THE REMOTE LEARNING CONTAINED HERE IS INTENDED TO BE ACCESSED WHERE ABSENCE IS DUE TO COVID-19 SYMPTOMS OR ISOLATION. IF YOU ARE UNWELL FOR ANY OTHER REASON, PLEASE DO NOT UNDERTAKE THESE ACTIVITIES AND FOCUS YOUR ENERGY ON GETTING YOURSELF WELL AGAIN BEFORE RETURNING TO SCHOOL.

Please support your child with their home learning. We would like you to take photos of your child enjoying their learning and send it to us over the course of the 5 days, for example, a piece of maths, English and art perhaps using our year group email account BusyBeesBTP@welearn365.com so that we can see what you have been doing. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact us via the year group email account as mentioned above.

This planning is for 5 days and follows topics being taught in school

We expect all children to read for a minimum of 20 minutes each day, using Bug Club and to practise their handwriting, and number formation.

Our focus for English is the reinforcement of digraphs and building a sentence using a capital letter and full stop. To support the phonics teaching, we are using the well-structured letters and sounds lessons.  Again a link for this is on the planning sheet.

For our maths, we follow the White Rose Scheme of learning and links to this will put on the planning, where appropriate.  Alongside this, children have access of Numbots, an online maths app, where children can reinforce their number work through fun and engaging games and tasks.

Kind regards,

Miss Carter, Mrs Khangura and Miss Taylor laugh
