Bishopton Primary School

‘Aim High, Prepare to Achieve’

Maths

We will be delivering the White Rose Maths Home Learning Summer Term scheme. Full details about this programme can be found at: whiterosemaths.com/homelearn/summer-term. As a school, we have been following the White Rose Maths schemes with the children. WRM have now developed this tailored 12-week plan for this Summer term with, the aim of ensuring children are ready for their next school year. The programme therefore focuses on covering the main concepts needed, and also in covering any new learning that has not yet taken place in school.

Bishopton School is a White Rose Maths 'Premium subscriber' and so we therefore have access to the full range of resources to be able to send onto you at home.

From Week 3 of the Summer term, w/c 4th May, the WRM scheme will link fully with BBC Bitesize Daily Maths. We therefore hope this will further enhance provision, and make is as easy as possible to deliver from home.

Online Maths Resources

NumBots

NumBots is an online provision that Bishopton subscribes to. All Year 1 children have their own login that allows them to access levels of number games in order for them to develop 'rapid recall' of mental maths skills. As teachers, we can access the class statistics. This shows us who has had a go and what levels children have reached. So we are encouraging you all to have a go! Little and often is the best approach. Please let us know if you are having difficulty accessing NumBots, or need your child's login details again.

The Game Modes

Story mode

This is the first mode. This is designed to develop understanding. Children move through levels by unlocking 2 stars. The first 3 levels in order are; Rust, Iron then Tin. Once a child has worked part the way through Tin this will unlock Challenge Mode.

Challenge Mode

This mode is designed to develop rapid recall and so questions are set against the clock. There is a progressive sequence of 20 Challenge Modes to reach in total. We will be able to view children's Challenge Mode results to see how they are progressing.
