Let's Explore the World

This half term our topic is called 'Let's Explore the World'. The children will be learning about the 7 continents and 5 oceans on Earth and what the equator is. We will look into weather around the equator and how this changes as you move further away from it. The children will identify hot and cold regions and what animals live in them. Our text this half term will be stories about 'Paddington Bear'. Therefore, we will have a focus on Peru and how this compares to the UK. In DT, we will make a bag for Paddington Bear. 

To kick start our topic we will be having a wow in day that includes an airport set up in the hall and a plane that will fly us to Peru!

We had a wonderful wow in day yesterday. When we arrived at school we made passports and collected our ticket for our flight to Peru. We then went to the airport and into the terminal building and checked in for our flight at the check in desk. Next, we went through security having our bags scanned and ourselves checked. Once we were through that we waiting in the departure lounge before going to the gate and boarding our plane to Peru. When we go on board the plane we had an announcement from the pilot and watched a safety video. The flight was 14 hours to Peru and when we landed we learnt all about the country.
