FOBS Letters

Welcome to the FOBS newsletter page

We would like to take this opportunity to introduce new parents to (and remind old ones of) the ‘Friends of Bishopton School’ (FOBS) Committee. FOBS organise and run social and fundraising events for the school.

In previous years, FOBS have organised:

* Christmas Fayres, with craft stalls, Father Christmas’ Grotto etc.

* Spring Fayres, with Easter Egg hunts and Table Top sales

* Film nights

* A number of discos for the children throughout the school year, with tuck shop.

* The BBQ for the Year 6 leavers, with Best ‘Dad Dancing’ Competition!

* Refreshments at school concerts etc.

FOBS also provide refreshments free of charge at the school’s open mornings and induction events. The money FOBS has raised in the past has been used to buy various pieces of equipment for the school. These include: Mr. Greygoose’s piano, Numercon for the school, football kit, interactive games table for the playground, gazebos and catering equipment for field events, ice creams/refreshments for Sports Day and presents for the children at the Christmas Disco.

Due to the building expansion of the school in 2015/16, fundraising opportunities were limited but well supported. Now with the building work finished, FOBS is looking to build up the fundraising and social events calendar once more. The school discos have already been planned in and booked with the DJ. You should all have received a flyer regarding the Car Boot/Table Top sale on 5th November as well. All FOBS events will be on the school calendar and reminders will appear in the weekly bulletins.

These events do not run themselves though and the current FOBS committee would welcome any extra help and support; whether you have time to spare to join the committee, or can offer your services to help out at one or two events, we would love to hear from you. Please do get in touch with Chairperson, Jo Payne, or Kathy Clee (School Secretary) to find out more.

We are looking forward to a fun filled year for Bishopton Primary School.
